Eighteen months ago we, Marisa Garau and Arjan van Woensel of Bungalow Publishing Ltd., started to wonder about Michael’s most faithful fans and how they cope with their loss since Michael passed away so unexpectedly. Many books have been written about this unforgettable performer, seldom offering more than the story we all know so well. But never before has anyone taken interest in listening to your personal memory of Michael. What did Michael mean to you? What influence does his music have on you? How does it feel to realise he plays such an important role in every aspect of your life? How do you cope since Michael passed away? What did Michael teach you about life, generosity, respect and love? Do you live according to his values? Did Michael’s music perhaps make you a better person?

We spent many long months talking, thinking, writing and designing in order to create an ultimate tribute that would – for the first time ever – shine a light on Michael’s fans and their deepest feelings for The King Of Pop. We realised we would tap into an amazingly rich source of human love and inspiration if we were to make this book a reality. Entering the contest is easy

Participating is easy, you only have to sign up to this website. Once signed up, you get access to the specially developed Writing Wizard. Here you can start writing your story of 300 words maximum, edit or rewrite it, save it and re-access it as often as you like. For only 10 USD you can then submit your story and be in to win a page in the Michael Jackson Book Monument. Make sure you submit your final version before the closing date of 31 May 2012. After that date, out of all submitted stories, the 1,000 most inspiring stories will be selected and published in this extraordinary monument.

The Michael Jackson Book Monument is the first ever monument for Michael built by his own fans, offering the highest level of fan involvement possible. It not only makes you a published writer, but also the co-creator of a unique monument for an exceptional person the world will never forget. There is only one condition: your story must be written in the UK or US English language.
Non-English stories will not make it to the book.

The regular edition

Each copy of the regular, un-limited edition has silver gilded pages and features Michael’s portrait in embossed, silver-foil stamped dots with an iridescent hue.
